Virginia Lawrence Houston Senior Education Award

• Must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.00 at the time of graduation and be in good
standing with ECSU.
• Must have earned 75 or more academic credits at ECSU.
• Must graduate in 4 ½ years or less of continuous study at ECSU. Page | 2 of 4
• Must pass the PRAXIS EXAM while a student at ECSU.
• Must have completed student teaching in Elizabeth City-
Pasquotank Public Schools (ECPPS) before graduation.
• Must exhibit excellent communication skills and demonstrate an understanding of
creative and effective classroom management.
